Listening to music with Kindle Reader
Connect your Kindle to your computer via USB. To transfer music files to your Kindle, you need to connect it to your computer. Your Kindle uses a micro-USB cable, which is the same cable many Android phones use to charge.

Using your computer, open your Kindle. With the Kindle connected, you can open it on your computer like a USB stick:
- Windows – Open the “My Computer” window and then double-click the Kindle in the list of changeable drives.
- Mac – you have to double-click the Kindle drive which appears on your desktop when you plug it in.
Open the “Music” folder. You can play any MP3 files added to this folder on your Kindle.
Add MP3 files. You can begin dragging MP3 files into your “Music” folder. You cannot make use of the subfolders to categorize the files. They will play on your Kindle in the order they were added to the folder. Only files in MP3 format can be played.
